The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has condemned the gruesome murder of one of its member, Miss Uwa Omozuwa who was murdered in one of the church parishes in Benin.
The unfortunate incident which was said to start with a rape leads to the death of Miss Uwa Omozuwa, a 100-level-student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN). She was said to be reading inside the church when she was hit by a fire extinguisher and was raped.
The attention of the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been drawn to the condemnable incident.
The church in a statement through its official website @www.rrcg.org states that they are consulting appropriate authorities to ensure that an extensive investigation is carried out in line with the position already expressed by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and the culprit(s) face the full weight of the law and justice is done regardless of who is involved.
Nigerians have demanded justice for Uwa and another 16-year-old, Tina who was brutally murdered by a police officer recently in Lagos.
It’s indeed a bad time in the world, we cannot but call for justice for Uwa and others who have lost their souls in a wicked manner.
