While many Nigerians were still demanding Justice for Tina, a 16-year-old girl that was allegedly shot dead by a police officer in Lagos, another tragedy has struck in Benin.
Many Nigerians have lent their voices to demand Justice for Uwa Omozuwa, an undergraduate of the University of Benin who died after being raped inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin.
It was gathered that Uwa On May 27, 2020, went to the RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, where she was reading before some men struck her in the head with a fire extinguisher, raped her and left her for dead.
A security guard at the church reportedly found her in a pool of blood and informed his superiors at the church.

The 22-year-old victim, who was unconscious, was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital where she narrated her ordeal and later died three days later.
According to friends of the deceased, she recently gained admission into the federal university and had yet to do matriculation as of the time of her death on May 30, 2020.
Several Twitter users wondered how the deceased was killed in broad daylight and inside a church.
Justice For Uwa
@crazeclown “Nowhere seems safe anymore … not school, not the market, not the street, not in your own house and not even the CHURCH.
@Rene_noire “Women talk about men raping them every day and they are blamed for being in the wrong place, dating wrong men, wearing revealing clothes, but Uwa was reading in a church, what is your excuse this time? What is your excuse? My heart hurts! I want justice for her.
@ozzyetomi “What is the excuse now? She was in a CHURCH. Women get brutalized, raped and killed while reading in CHURCH. This is a societal sickness! Don’t ever let me hear you say shit to justify or excuse rape! I’m so sorry Uwa, you didn’t deserve this.
Meanwhile, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki said he has ordered the state police command to thoroughly investigate the circumstances that led to the death of Uwa.
Obaseki, who disclosed this via his Twitter handle while reacting to the gruesome murder of the 22-year old girl said he had mandated the police to identify, arrest and prosecute anyone found culpable in her death.
