Journalists who covered the burial of the Late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari have been asked by the presidency to stay away from the Aso Rock for 14 days.
According to the Presidency, they have not only been told to stay away from Aso Rock but to embark on two-week isolation as a precautionary measure against the further spread of the Coronavirus attacking the whole world.
In a statement signed by Deputy Director, Information State House, Abuja Attah Esa, this development is nothing more than a recommended measure to prevent the transmission of the virus.
“As a precautionary measure, all State House Correspondents and Media Office Staff who covered/ attended the funeral prayer/ burial ceremony of the late Chief of Staff, at Defence House and Gudu Cemetery Abuja, respectively, are strongly advised to work from home for the next 14 days.
“Please be careful to observe the recommended measures to prevent Coronavirus transmission, including maintaining physical distancing and good personal hygiene going forward.”
