James Brown: My Grandma Raised Me After My Mother Rejected Me

Popular Nigerian Crossdresser James Brown has opened up about his relationship with his mother and why he prefers his grandma.

The self-acclaimed ‘Princess of Africa’, in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, revealed that he had to cut ties with his biological mother because she rejected him.

James Brown revealed that his mother has been attempting to reconnect with him to no avail because he is not interested at all.

The 23-year-old revealed that despite reconnecting with his mother in the past, she still rejected him.

James Brown praised his grandmother for being a mother figure for him while growing up and helping to become the person he is today.

In the video shared on Instagram, James Brown said, “The thing is what people need to know, what they need to care about is that I’m doing well. I’m okay with my life, life is moving on and I’m happy with my life literally.

“Every day I’m proud of my family, my new family, the one I created. I don’t want to start touching those wounds which have healed, I’ve actually healed, I’m okay.

“But I don’t just feel like it’s the time to start putting myself into that situation because someone that has messed you up before will definitely do it again.

“This is the only woman who took me in when I was rejected by my mom back then when I was just two days old. This woman breastfed me, clothed me, and sheltered me, knowing fully well that I’m just her granddaughter /son.

“Back then I thought she was my biological mom for 6 years, even after my biological mother finally surfaced, I was still not accepted. My grandma took me back, loved, and supported me as always. I stayed with my grandma and my great-grandma almost all my life.”
