The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given an update on the commencement of admission processes in the country.
The academic board has given the date as August 2020 for all schools to start their admission process, but the end of the process has not yet been decided as the country is still battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prof. Ishaq Oloyede who is the JAMB registrar made this known on Tuesday to the public at a presentation of the policy considerations at the 2020 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions.
The registrar also made it known that the date for the deadline would be made known to the public by the Ministry of Education in due course as situations unfold from the direct result of COVID-19. He however pointed out that institutions are advised to cap the fees for their Post UTME exams at two thousand Naira (NGN2,000).
He also made it known that foreign candidates, prison candidates, deaf candidates and blind candidates have all been granted waivers against sitting for the Post UTME screening due to the difficulties experienced in the process as the groups have complained.
