Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho re-affirmed his scoring prowess by shooting Leicester City into the FA Cup final on Sunday against Southampton.
Senior man Kelechi Iheanacho leads Leicester to first final in 52 years
The player popularly called ‘Seniorman’ seemed very quiet all game, but he proved that he is always alert when it matters as he fired the Foxes to the final in the 55th minute of the game.
Leicester City got their only goal through brilliant work from Jamie Vardy when he powered down the left and moved into the box before finding the Nigerian, whose first effort was blocked. Still, he emphatically made the most of the second bite at the cherry.
With two goals in the quarter-finals and the all-important goal in the semi-final, Iheanacho is in red-hot form. He was in the right place at the right time and has fired Leicester into their first FA Cup final since 1969 as 4,000 spectators witnessed their 1-0 win over Southampton at Wembley.
