Mohammed Adamu, the inspector-general of police (IGP), has reacted to actress, Rahama Sadau’s post that caused controversy on social media.
Recall that the Nollywood/Kannywood actress posted photos of herself in a backless dress. This had made Northereners on microblogging app, Twitter to tag her dressing as ‘Haram’.
This led to more controversy as the post caused other followers to drag Prophet Muhammad SAW which was later labelled as ‘blasphemy”.
Although Rahama Sadau addressed the issue and later deleted the posts, she was sanctioned by Kannywood for the second time in 4 years.
Reacting to the development, the IGP called on the Kaduna state commissioner to address the controversy trailing the post by Rahama Sadau. He stated that the issue shouldn’t be allowed threaten public peace and security.
In a letter signed by Idowu Owohunwa, the principal staff officer to the IGP, the commissioner has been called to give updates accordingly.
The letter reads, “I am to convey the directive of the Inspector General of Police that you treat proactively
“with a view to ensuring that the development does not result in any act that could threaten public peace and security”
Rahama Sadau was involved in a controversy in October 2016. Kannywood expelled her for “hugging and cuddling” in a music video.
