Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, has meted out punishments to the defaulting police officers who organized an unsanctioned strike that disrupted security activities across various parts of the country.
The inspector-general, therefore, ordered the dismissal of nine of the accused policemen planning to spearhead the industrial action by the Nigerian Police force, NPF.
As contained in a statement issued by the force command, the sack order that came from the Commissioner of Police Provost, Force Headquarters, Abuja and forwarded to journalists.
The signal said the men were dismissed from service following their orderly room trial for planning and coordinating a strike within the ranks and file of the police.

However, the offenders were said to have been identified and subsequently arrested after their phone calls were tracked.
It was further gathered that the planned industrial action by members of the Force was to condemn the services rendered to the masses, adding that the policemen affected include two Inspectors, five Sergeants, and two Constables.
