British actor, Idris Elba has been tested positive for covid-19. The star actor joined the high-profile list of the victims of the deadly virus which had its out break in the Wu Han City of China. The star actor met with Canadian Prime minister’s wife, Sophie Trudeau who has also been tested positive with the virus a few days ago and has been tipped as the likely source of Elba’s infection.
Idris Elba shared on his verified Twitter account the news through a post on his Twitter page @Idriselba. He said he was asymptomatic but when the test was carried out, he came out positive. He used the medium to advice others and told his followers not to panic. In the 2minutes & 7 seconds video featuring his wife, Elba made sure there’s no cause for alarm in his message.
The English actor wrote on Twitter page ‘’This morning I tested positive for Covid-19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic’’
Idris Elba became the second high-profile actor to have been tested positive after American actor, Tom Hanks. Elba joined the likes of Mikel Arteta, and Calum Hudson Odoi in the list of popular figures from the UK who have been tested to Covid-19 in recent week.
