The case regarding the attack on Paris Saint-Germain women’s player, Kheira Hamraoui, has taken yet another twist, as the wife of former Barcelona star Eric Abidal has now been involved in the case, and she is now being investigated.
Eric Abidal’s Wife Accused of Sending Men to attack Kheira Hamraoui
The incident took place in the car of teammate Aminata Diallo who was first accused before investigation proved her innocent. The centre of the police investigations is now Eric Abidal’s wife, Hayet Abidal. She was a player of Barcelona at one time of football career. It is now alleged that the former Barcelona man had an affair with her which could trigger his wife’s anger to plan an attack on the lady if it is true that she did it.
As reported by Le Monde, Eric Abidal is set to be questioned as part of the investigation into the attack on Hamraoui. After the attack, Abidal was the first person Hamraoui called, and her phone was also registered under Abidal’s name.
Access to the calls made and received by the French player, as well as Diallo’s statement regarding alleged threats from Abidal’s wife in the past, have put Parisian police on alert. Moreover, according to reports, Hayet’s action could have been personal revenge for a possible love affair between Eric Abidal and Kheira Hamraoui.
During the attack, it was confirmed that one of the hooded men reproached the assailant for having different affairs with married men.
