Barely 24 hours after a First-class Monarch, the Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi was killed in Ondo State, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped a Chinese contractor in Ekiti State.
Everyevery.ng gathered that the abducted Chinese national was the contractor handling the new Iyin Road in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Meanwhile, another Chinese national was said to have sustained gunshots injuries while the gunmen shot dead the policeman in their entourage.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Ekiti State Police Command, ASP Sunday Abutu said operatives are combing the forest to ensure the safe rescue of the expatriate.
Gunmen Abduct Chinese Contractor In Ekiti
According to Abutu, the kidnapping incident occurred on Friday at about 4:30 pm along new Ado-Iyin road.
The Police spokesperson added that the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Tunde Mobayo has enjoined everyone to be calm and avoid any form of apprehension.
The Police Boss stated that the Command will do everything possible to rescue the victim and arrest the culprits.
