Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has threatened to sanction any traditional ruler who failed to proffer a solution to the activities of cultists in his domain.
Akeredolu, who stated this during a statewide broadcast in Akure, Ondo state capital, also called on residents to surrender illegal weapons in their possession.
Meanwhile, he further stated that his government would not hesitate to impose a 24-hour curfew on any community where there were crises.
Governor Akeredolu revealed that the state government had mandated the security agencies to prosecute any person found with illegal weapons.
He advised parents to prevail on their wards on the need to desist from using drugs and other enablers, noting that security operatives won’t hesitate to apprehend and punish users of such substances.

EveryEvery.ng gathered that the Ondo state government had imposed a 24-hour curfew in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East local government area, following the violence in the town.
The Ondo state government warned that security agencies have been deployed and mandated to enforce the curfew in the troubled Local government in the state.
According to governor Akeredolu, anyone who contravenes the curfew order shall face the full wrath of the law. Meanwhile, he has ordered the immediate suspension of all activities relating to the Olokoja chieftaincy title, which caused trouble in the town.
