The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has visited the scene of the Akure explosion which destroyed many homes and property in the early hours of Saturday.
In a post on his official twitter handle, the Governor posted pictures of his visit to the scene of the explosion that rocks Ilu Abo, a suburb town in Akure.
According to the tweet, a vehicle in convoy transporting explosives to a storage facility in a neighboring state developed a fault while in transit along the Akure Owo before the explosion.

The Governor said, “I have been briefed by the security chiefs that in the early hours of Saturday, March 28th, a vehicle in convoy transporting explosives to a storage facility in a neighboring state developed a fault while in transit along the Akure Owo Road about 2km from the Akure Airport.
