Garmany Struggles in Euro Nations League
Germany’s wait for their first Nations League win is still very much in the wait as they were held to a 1-1 draw in Basel against Switzerland. Germany and Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan opened the scoring in the first 14 minutes of the game through a fine clinical finishing from 20 yards to light up the hopes of the German Machines at the St Jakob-Park Stadium.
But the hosts levelled just before the hour, Silvan Widmer converting from inside the penalty area. It was Switzerland’s first point of the campaign, leaving Germany with two draws from two in League A Group 4. The 2014 World Cup winners have failed to win any of their four games in the inaugural Nations League two years ago.
There will be playing Ukraine in the Matchday 3 of the Euro Nations League on the 10th of September waiting for their first win in the Nations League.
