A gas explosion in Lagos State has, so far, recorded threedeaths, as the State’s Fire and Rescue Service revealed in the early hours of the day.
According to the rescue team, the gas explosion occurred at 21, Ojekunle Street, Ladipo, Mushin, in LagosState.
It was learnt that several other persons were reported to have obtained various forms of burns and injuries in the occurrence.
In a statement, Margaret Adeseye, director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said the incident occurred on Tuesday around 8:42 am.
She hinted that the gas incident made known to the public happened at about 8:42 am on Tuesday and communicated through the state emergency reporting platform.
Adeseye stated a swift response by “a combination of the State first and secondary responders,” the statement reads.
The team has commenced investigations to prove what triggered the explosion, adding several businesses within the area where the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing the report, it was learnt that the blast site had been barricaded to avoid any further tragedy.
