Four teenage girls between the ages of 12 and 17 have drowned in a river located at Kafin-Doki-Yamma village in Gwaram local Government area of Jigawa while trying to make their way to the farm.
The victims were identified as Maryam Danlami (12 years),Marakisiyya Musa (13 years), Shamsiyya Nuhu (13 years) and Bilkisu Haruna (17 years) and they are all indigenes of the Kafin Dokin Yamma area of Sara LGA.
Abdu Jinjiri , the police spokesperson of Jigawa state confirmed this incident, saying that it happened in the early hours of Tuesday while the girls were crossing the river which leads to their farmland. The bodies of three of the girls had been found while there is still a search for the last girl.
The spokesperson says that the recovered bodies have been confirmed dead and sent to their families for burial.
