Abuja Fire on Thursday was able to avert a major disaster that would have claimed a highly populated Abuja street. Fire accident was recorded in a paint company located in a Piwoyi Street, Airport road, Abuja.
Though the cause of the fire that burnt about five buildings is still unknown at the time of filling this report, the fire service struggled to put out the fire after a distress call was put across to them.
Reports from residents of the community told everyeveryng that the fire started in the early hours of Thursday while paint production was on going in the company.
Mrs. Yaho who spoke with everyeveryng said, the owner of the company sustained some degrees of brunt injuries on his legs and arms but no life was lost. According to her all the residents of Piwoyi community had to run out of their houses and seek safety.
She added that with the way the fore was spreading across the compound of the company she took her two children out of her house for a more secure place.
Another resident Mrs. Tawa hinted that there was a fire accident in the same company last year and four manual workers of the paint company lost their lives in the inferno. See said the lessons learnt from the last year incident helped to curtail this, especially with the help of the fire service.
Water from five fire service trucks were used to put out the fire and normalcy is gradually returning to the community as at the time of filling this report.
