Christmas and New Year Holidays
The federal government has announced the days it approved as the 2020 Christmas and new year holidays.
Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola while announcing on behalf of the government said Friday 25, Monday 28 December 2020 and Friday January 1, 2021 have been declared public holidays.
According to him the days are meant to mark Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year celebrations respectively.
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, Aregebsola preached that Christians imbibe the gospel of Jesus Christ on faith, hope and love.
He however called on all Nigerians, especially Christians not for forget to adhere strictly to the COVID-19 protocols while celebrating the 2020 Christmas.
Considering the current state of the nation’s security, the minister assured Nigerians of the federal government’s resolve to protecting life and property.
He also stressed that the fight against banditry, kidnapping and other social vices are ongoing, promising that the government will not rest until all criminals are brought to book.
