The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu has revealed that Management of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA would decide the punishment that would be meted out to Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.
The decision to punish the singer followed a concert that was held at Jabi Lake Mall on Saturday in violation of the PTF directive on Interstate ban and social gathering to stop the further spread of Coronavirus.
Reacting to the concert, Dr Aliyu expressed optimism that the fate of Naira Marley would be decided by the FCTA authorities adding that action has been taken on the Chief organizers of the concert.
He stated that the PTF would always support any measure taken against people who violate the guidelines put in place to curb the spread f the deadly virus.
Punishment For Naira Marley
Earlier, the Federal government had announced the suspension of the Executive Jet Services that flew Naira Marley, to Abuja for the concert which has generated controversies.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika announced on Monday that the firm was suspended till further notice adding that the airline would face the full wrought of the law.
The singer had earlier posted a video of himself and ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Kim Oprah alighting from a private plane to attend the concert which contradicted the restrictions on air travels by the PTF.
However, many Nigerians have taken to social media to demand punishment for Naira Marley urging the Police Force and FCT authorities to also take necessary actions against those at the concert and organisers.
