Fashion is ever evolving and so is style. Nigerian fashion bloggers are getting it right and bringing positivity to the influencer market. I sat down with fashion blogger Aramide of Diadem to speak about how fashion has affected her daily life. Her Instagram page tells a story about how a fashion girl can survive on NYSC salary while looking stylish and effortless.
What does fashion mean to you?
Answer: Fashion to me is a work of art, how I present myself and how I want people to see me.
Question: How has fashion blogging influenced your style?
Answer: Fashion blogging has done a great deal in influencing my style. I can very much say I wear more daring outfits now without feeling awkward. I’ve begun to develop my personal style but I can’t deny that other fashion bloggers inspire me a lot and geared a fashion move in me.
Question: What is the 5 essential wardrobe pieces every woman need?
Answer: I would say the 5 wardrobe staples everyone needs are: a little black dress, a pair of sunglasses, a white shirt, a white sneaker, a knitted sweater and a tote bag.
Question: With the current trend on events, what’s your socio-political stand on legalizing abortion?
Answer: I feel abortion rights won’t be legalized mainly because of the rate at which young women die from abortion complications or incomplete abortion.
Question: One fashion advice you would give your younger self?
Answer: Black and white never goes out of style. Buy it without hesitation
Question: How does having a 9 to 5 job affect your fashion choices.
Answer: I haven’t entered the labour force yet. I’m still an otondo(lol)
Question: With the hustle and bustle of life, how do you find time to have a skin care routine?
Answer: With such a busy schedule, I hardly have time for skin care. I do make out time to exfoliate, wipe my make up thoroughly and eat good food always.
Question: Do you think having a great style has changed people’s perception of you?
Answer: Yes, it has.
Question: If yes, why?
Answer: People now see a more powerful, confident and sophisticated Aramide. It’s like I became a whole new person (awesome right).
