Nigerian politician, essayist and former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed that he will be offering scholarships to 300 Nigerians to study in a private university in the Republic of Benin, Icon University.
Fani-kayode made this known in a tweet he posted on Wednesday, 27th May 2020. According to him, the scholarship is in honour of his wife, Precious Chikwendu, and triplets – Ragnar, Aiden and Liam – who celebrated their birthdays on Monday.
Here is what he wrote;
“I will award scholarships to 300 students to the top Private University in a neighboring African country over the next 2 years. Fees will be taken care of. This will be done under the auspices of Snowhite PureHeart Foundation which is owned by my wife @snowhitey1”.
To commemorate the birthday of my wife and 3 sons I am offering a scholarship to 300 Nigerian students to Icon University in the Republic of Benin. This is the top private university in Cotonou and they have just awarded me an honorary doctorate degree. I am deeply humbled.”

Fani-Kayode said the interview for interested persons would begin next week.
It is worthy to note that Fani-Kayode is a Nigerian politician, essayist, poet and lawyer. He was a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and was with the opposition’s All Progressive Congress (APC) until June 2014 when he returned to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Aside from that, he was the Special Assistant (Public Affairs) to President Olusegun Obasanjo from July 2003 until June 2006. From 22 June to 7 November 2006, he was appointed the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Federal Republic of and as the Minister of Aviation from 7 November 2006 to 29 May 2007
