Eyitayo Jegede has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ahead of the October 10 guber poll in Ondo State.
It was gathered that he garnered 888 votes during the PDP primary elections held in Akure, the State capital.
Eddy Olafeso had 175 votes, Agboola Ajayi- 657, Banji Okuomo-90, Bode Ayorinde-95, Boluwaji Kunlere-33, Sola Ebiseni-29, while Erewa Godday had 14 votes.
The election of the PDP flag bearer for the October governorship election in the State was held on Wednesday, July 22 with 2,000 accredited delegates at the International Event Centre, Akure.

Before the election, the leadership of PDP, led by Uche Secondus, held a meeting with all the aspirants who signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support any candidate who emerges at the gubernatorial primary election.
You will recall that the incumbent Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu had earlier emerged as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
