Nigerians who have registered to be evacuated from Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Thailand have been mandated by the respective embassies to make certain payment. According to the instruction given by the Nigeria Embassy in those countries, the payment is for isolation accommodation and feeding for sixteen days upon their arrival into the country. This is for their respective quarantine fees.
However, the instruction also mandates al registered evacuees to make the payment before boarding the evacuation aircraft.

“Accommodation N15,000 x 16 days = N240,000; feeding 3600 x 16 days = N57,600; total 18,600 x 16 days = 297,600.

“Kindly be informed that these rates were negotiated in Nigeria and the embassy has been instructed not to airlift any evacuee who fails to pay the above fee,” a document signed by Nicholas Uhomoibhi, head of the chancery, Embassy of Nigeria in Thailand, read.

To add to this, all registered evacuees from Saudi Arabia are also mandated to pay a minimum amount of N266,225 for their flight charges. A fee that might change depending on the kind of aircraft eventually used.
