Popular Nigerian artiste and mother of one, Tiwa Savage has called out the youth of the country for depending on the celebrities for social change. She joined in the #EndSARS protest that was led by colleagues Runtown and Falz in Lagos state and pictured with her was OAP, Toke Makinwa.
She shared a video on her Instagram page where she expressed her frustration on the current issue of police brutality and then urged the Nigerian populace to be actively involved on the polity of the country and stop relying on public figures to get things done moreover, the youth of the country did not rely on celebrities when voting for the just concluded BBNaija season 5. In the video, she said,
“This is serious, this isn’t the time to joke. Nigerian youths, you guys need to wakeup, there are people out there that have lost children to this thing.
This is why they don’t take us seriously, they think Nigerian youths are lazy, and all we want to do is just ‘Jaiye’. Do you want to die a joke?
You don’t have to rely on celebrities, you did not need celebrities when you guys were voting on big brother, we can all do this, we all need each other.”
