The #EndSARS protesters have announced a new venue for their display of displeasure over what they describe as bad governance, government nonchalant attitude to the plights of the citizens, police brutality, killing and maiming of innocent Nigerian, exploitation among many others.
Scores of Nigerian youth have trooped to streets of major cities across the country, demanding a new Nigeria and threatening not to leave until governments at all levels become reponsive.
However, several records of violence ranging from killings, burning of cars, police stations, shops and home have been recorded as a result of alleged hijack of the protest.
As a result of these, Edo and Lagos state governments have declared 24hours curfew, banning movement of non- essential service providers in the state.
This move has prompted the #EndSARS protests to announce that the protest should be moved online, since it is clear that the streets are no longer safe.
The protest venue change announcement came from Toke Makinwa, former BBNaija housemate, Kimoprah, and Bolanle Olukanni.
“Toke Makinwa@tokstarr: Let’s move the protest online, clearly the powers that be have sponsored thugs to hijack the movement, I did not fall sick for this, this is crazy. #EndSars“
” Bolanle Olukanni@bolanleolukanni: We resume online friends !! We know what are demands are !!! All demands have to be met”
