Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity has eulogized the president for his fatherly response to the recent EndSARS protests in the country.
In an article he published on Friday, Adesina noted that Buhari had at different occasions opined that the EndSARS protesters` agitation against police brutality was well-meaning.
According to Adesina, the President received reports about the destruction that happened during the protests soberly.
Furthermore, Adesina stated that President Buhari had during a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General, Hajia Amina Mohammed showed himself as a father figure to the Nigerian youths.
Adesina stressed that there is truly a huge difference between an instructor, a tutor, and a father.
He said President Buhari acted like a father all through the EndSARS protest and the riots, mayhem, and looting that followed adding that the President is by no means a soft man.
Adesina said the President remains the unbending iron but tempered by democracy, and by time in terms of administration and response to people and situations.
According to the Presidential aide, if President Buhari hadn’t exercised the restraint and tolerance of a father during the EndSARS protests, Nigerians would have been talking of something else in the country.
He said the rivers of Nigeria could have turned crimson, and mourning and lamentations would have suffused the land.
