American Billionaire Elon Musk has reversed his decision to join the Twitter board after an initial announcement of his appointment by the company CEO Parag Agrawal.
This development is coming a week after the Tesla Motors CEO disclosed the purchase of up to 9.2 per cent in 73.5 million shares of Twitter‘s common stock.
Agrawal, after the purchase, announced on Tuesday that Elon Musk would be joining the board while describing him as “a passionate believer and intense critic of the service which is exactly what we need”.
However, the CEO of the microblogging site, disclosed on his verified Twitter handle late on Sunday that “Elon Musk has decided not to join our board”.
The statement shared partly read, “Elon’s appointment to the board was to become officially effective 4/9, but Elon shared that same morning he will no longer be joining the board, I believe this is for the best.”
