Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Bamidele Oleyelogun and the Assembly’s clerk, Bode Adeyelu, have been reportedly grilled by the Economic and Financial Commission, EFCC, over alleged fraud.
Other lawmakers involved in the alleged fraud includes the Deputy Clerk, Amos Olowogorioye, and the Chairman, House Committee on Tertiary Education, Felemugudu Bankole.
Everyevery.ng gathered that the officers allegedly budgeted a massive amount for a two-day seminar organised by the National Productivity Centre, which they did not attend.
According to a document, the seminar aimed at achieving excellence among workers in the public and private sectors.
EFCC Grills Ondo Speaker
However, a source revealed that the N2.4m released by the Ondo state Ministry of Finance went to the private pockets because no such seminar was organised.
Reacting, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Gbenga Omole, has denied the EFCC invitation.
Omole disclosed that the Speaker nor any member was arrested or invited by the EFCC.
