Dowen College Lagos has started the installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the school premises following the death of one of their students Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.
Sylvester was alleged by the family to have been killed by senior students who wanted to Initiate him into their cult by giving him a toxic drink.
The Oromoni families testified that the deceased named the culprits behind his attack before his death, an allegation the school denied.
Dowen College Taking Security Measures
In an ongoing corona inquest into the death of the 12-year-old Sylvester, Mr Ahmed Ayomo, a teacher from the college made this disclosure yesterday before an Ikeja Corona’s Court.
Oromoni died on November 30, 2021, in a mysterious circumstance with an autopsy report revealing that the student’s death was a result of acute bacterial pneumonia due to severe sepsis.
The founder and Chairman of Dowen college has since stepped down from his role, while the Oromoni family still awaits justice for their lost son.
