The wife of the Lagos State Governor Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has reacted to the death of Dowen College student Sylvester Oromoni.
The Governor’s wife, who is on an advocacy visit to schools in activism against sexual and gender-based violence, has described the death as “a big slap on the state’s face.”This statement was read by the Assistant Director of Public Affairs Olubukola Nwonah, representing the first lady.
She said she is aware that investigations are ongoing “it is something we are not very happy about, and It is a big slap on the face of the education sector, the community, and Lagos State as a whole.”
“It is a case that is being investigated and for the parents and everybody involved; honestly, we commiserate with them and send our condolences,” she concluded.
Dowen College Student Death
The Governor’sGovernor’s wife said she could not say much about the incident as investigations are still on but described it as painful.
On Saturday, the Lagos state government has ordered the total closure of Dowen College following the completion of investigations.
