The Spokesman for the Defence Headquarters, DHQ, John Eneche has cleared the air over concerns about President Muhammadu Buhari’s safety in Katsina state given the recent abduction of over 300 students in Kankara.
During an interview on Wednesday, Eneche assured that President Buhari is safe in Katsina and anywhere that he is adding that one of the major tasks of the Armed Forces of Nigeria is to protect the government and the state actors.
However, he debunked reports making the rounds that the Boko Haram sect was responsible for the abduction in Katsina noting that the terrorist group only claimed responsibility for the attack just to instil fear in people.
Though Eneche did not disclose those behind the abduction, he stressed that the Nigerian Military and other security agencies are working hard to ensure the children come out unhurt.
You will recall that DCP, Abba Kyari and his team have travelled to Katsina State as part of efforts to rescue the students abducted from Government Science Secondary School, GSSS.
