‘A Better Time’ crooner Davido opens up on why he joined the #EndSARS protests that rocked the nation .
Recall that few days into the protests, Davido flew to Abuja to join in the protests .
At the protest, Davido alongside other protesters were attacked with water cannons but this did not deter them.
Following this, Davido was invited to the office of the Inspector General of Police where he discussed the ‘5for5’ demands.
In a recent interview with a colleague, DJ Cuppy on Apples Radio’s Africa Now, Davido opens up on why he really joined the protests.
According to Davido, he said it was the protesters especially the female ones that motivated him to join.
In his words,
“I got my courage from all the other youths that went out there before me. They had been protesting for days before I even went there. I would say those people gave me a lot of courage especially the females, the women that were there protesting.”
He went ahead to narrate how protesters were mad at him when he arrived , asking why he was just joining in.
But he said he could understand their anger judging from his social background and status as a top tier musician.
On his visit to the IGP’s office, Davido said it was not productive in the sense that they did not meet the demands of the citizens.
