COVID-19 Claims Life Of Nigerian Army General
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) six division Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, Major-General Olu Irefin has died of complications from coronavirus (COVID-19).
Maj.-Gen. Irefin was attending the ongoing Chief of Army Staff’s Annual Conference 2020 in Abuja before he took ill and died.
It had earlier been reported that the Nigerian Army was forced to abruptly cancel the annual conference following the general’s positive infection.
Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sagir Musa, asked all participants at the conference to proceed on self-quarantine.
