Army Orders Compulsory Isolation
The Nigerian army has ordered the participants of its events to go for a compulsory isolation after one of his senior officers tested positive to COVID-19.
This is coming after it cancelled the remaining activities lined up for the ongoing Chief of Army Staff annual Conference 2030.
A statement signed by its Director of Public Relations, Sagir Musa, hinted that it is immediately canceling the rest of its conference after what looks like the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit Abuja, affecting one of the Army’s senior officers.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to inform members of the public that due to resurgence of COVID 19 Pandemic in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja in what appears to be a second wave of infection cycle and the unfortunate incident on Tuesday 8 December 2020, where an officer participating in the ongoing Chief of Army Staff’s Annual Conference 2020 here in Abuja tested positive to COVID 19, the remaining activities of the conference have therefore been immediately cancelled.”
The name, rank or other hint about the senior officer infected with COVID-19 was however not revealed.
He said all the attendees of the ongoing conference have been ordered to self-isolate, in compliance with the federal government’s COVID-19 guidelines.
