As Coronavirus keeps rocking the boat of the world, the Nigerian Government says it will only evacuate Nigerians who have tested negative to the Coronavirus.
According to the Chairman Nigeria Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri- Erewa while talking on a radio program about the fate of Nigerian living outside the shores of Nigeria, the commission is bothered about their living condition.
She maintained that the commission is planning on the modalities that would be employed in bringing Nigerians on diaspora home.
Coronavirus Status Terms
Abike said one of the rules that must be followed is that everyone who is willing to come back to Nigeria at this time must be ready to take a Coronavirus test and must come out with a negative result to be qualified.
She stressed that no Nigerian with a positive Coronavirus test result would be brought back home. The Chairman noted that the commission will not risk the lives of the whole nation by bringing back home victims of the virus.
The second condition to be followed includes a prior agreement to go straight in for compulsory isolation on arrival into Nigeria.
Abike stressed that everybody that would be brought back to Nigeria from any country should be ready to stay in a prepared isolation centre in Nigeria.
According to her, they would not go to their homes but stay at the designated centres. But she stressed that the isolation centre is not a place for enjoyment, but a place to manage until they are cleared of any suspicion of being a Coronavirus victim.
She said they compiled names of interested Nigerians in different countries of the world would be checked on Thursday, and necessary procedures would be followed to know the time for airlift.
