Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila has disclosed that he met with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss issues that concern Nigerians amidst the Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Also, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawal was in the meeting with Gbajabiamila and President Buhari.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Gbajabiamila disclosed that the meeting was held in Abuja on Tuesday.
The tweet reads “Met with @MBuhari today. This is the one time the two branches of government must synergise and be on the same page and one accord in the interest of those we serve”.
Gbajabiamila Meets President Buhari
According to the tweet, issues ranging from social intervention programme, security, electricity among others were discussed during the meeting.
“A host of issues were discussed including social intervention Programmes and palliatives, electricity, security,post-COVID and way forward etc. The air world is despondent over, but we will and must come out stronger.
You will recall that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Gbajabiamila and the Senate President, Lawal had earlier complained about the poor execution of the social intervention programme.
They challenged the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq to ensure proper execution of the programme for the sake of Nigerians.
