Health worker dies in Borno after testing positive to coronavirus. Babangida Buba who was an anaesthetic nurse with the Non-Governmental Organisation, Medicine San Frontieres, MSF also known as Medicine without Borders died in Borno recently after contracting the COVID-19 infection.
The United nations office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reacted to the passing of the health worker and in their statement, described it as the “ultimate price”.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, while expressed his condolence to the family and friend of the deceased.
“I am very saddened to confirm the death of a health worker on 18 April who had contracted the new coronavirus disease COVID-19. Our sincerest condolences go to his family, friends and colleagues who are all deeply affected by the loss,” Mr Kallon said.

“Despite the risks, this Nigerian health worker was devoting his life to treating vulnerable internally displaced persons who have lost everything during the conflict raging in the north-east.

This case remain the only case in Borno as only Bauchi amongst NorthEastern states have multiple cases of coronavirus.
