The China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC said has completed the conversion of ThisDay Dome to Isolation and Treatment Centre in Abuja.
According to the construction company, the conversion took fourteen days.
In a post on its Twitter handle the company said the Government of Nigeria approached it on May 29 to discuss the conversion of the Centre.

The tweets read, “A race against time! The ThisDay Dome in Abuja district has been converted into a COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre within 14 days!
On March 29, the Government of Nigeria came to us, hoping that we could help convert the ThisDay Dome into a COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Centre in the shortest possible time while maintaining the highest quality.
Protecting and saving lives is the priority. Against all the odds, our team acted immediately and made the project a complete success after 14 days of around-the-clock construction.
To stand firmly together in navigating these tough times, the technical team, along with CCECC Nigeria Ltd., has been assisting in installation and testing of equipment such as ventilators and hemodialyzers in the Isolation and Treatment Centre for the use of Nigerians since May 2.
It has also maintained communication with management personnel on the aspects of bed space and layout of functional areas, etc.
However, the company promised to partner the Nigerian Government in ensuring victory over the Coronavirus, COVID-19 Outbreak which the construction firm described an unprecedented challenge.
