China Aid Arrives in Nigeria. Due to the outbreak of the Corona Health Virus, Nigeria has just received tests kits and protective gears on the 25th of March 2020 from Chinese billionaire, Jack Ma. The China aid is part of his efforts to assist in the fight against the Corona Health Virus.
So far, the virus has claimed only one life and has infected 52 people at the moment with only two recovered cases in Nigeria.
China Aid Arrives in Nigeria For the Corona Health Virus Fight
According to a top health official, Abdulaziz Abdullahi, the country received 100,000 face masks, 1, 000 protective gowns and 20,000 tests kits from China aid. The equipment is planned to be distributed to frontline health workers, hospitals and laboratories.
The China aid by Ma donated equal amount of gears and tests kits to all African countries.
A new specialists hospital has just been opened by the Nigeria’s Army Chief, Lieutenant General Tukur Brutai, in Abuja on Wednesday 25th March 2020. According to him, the medical personnel of the military will join hands in combating the virus.
“It is not a coincidence that this facility is coming on stream at this time when the corona virus disease is ravaging the whole world”, the Army Medical Director, Ikechukwu Okeke said at the ceremony marking the opening of the hospital.
The Army has also banned large gatherings for its members of staff. It has also promised to assist other agencies in restricting movement . The Army promised to assist in keeping food stores and government storage facilities safe from looting during this time.
At the moment, Nigeria has announced multiple measures including travel bans and lockdown to fight the corona health virus in the country.
Experts are skeptical of the outcome f there is a full-blown outbreak in Nigeria. Considering the poverty rate and vulnerability of the Nigeria population with poor health infrastructure.
