President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to reports making the rounds on the plan to stage fresh EndSARS protests in some parts of the country.
According to a tweet by the Presidency, Buhari on Monday, December 7 warned that any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country.
However, many Nigerians have also reacted to the warning issued by President Buhari about the EndSARS protests.
Fresh EndSARS Protest
A Twitter user, @pdauda advised the federal government not to arm, hire, import or transport hooligans to disrupt peaceful protests to ensure peace and stability in the country.
Another user on the social media app, @MoSugar4 opined the need for President Buhari to tell the Inspector General Of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu to deploy anti-riot police to venues of the protest to avoid hijackers from causing vandalization or hooliganism.
However, a Twitter user, @CrownsTohBadt asked Buhari about his administration’s plan to end insecurity, unemployment or pay salaries of lecturers.
Earlier, Everyevery.ng had reported that armed Policemen and soldiers have stormed the Lekki Toll Gate as part of efforts to forestall another round of the EndSARS protest.
Several motorists confirmed that the security operatives were deployed around midnight to stop the protest that was proposed to be staged on Monday, December 7.
Earlier, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi had warned that the command will not allow another round of EndSARS protest in the state.
