President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the release of the abducted students of the Government Girls Science School, GGSS, Jandebe, Zamfara State.
The President revealed that his administration was working hard to end the grim and heartbreaking kidnapping incidents.
According to him, the Military and the Police will continue to go after kidnappers. However, he said security operatives need local communities’ support in terms of human intelligence to help nip criminal plans in the bud.
Meanwhile, Buhari said he joined the affected families and the people of Zamfara State in welcoming and celebrating the release of the abducted Jandebe students.

He noted that the news about their release brought overwhelming joy, adding that he was pleased that their ordeal has come to a happy end without any incident.
Earlier, the President had described bandits, who are killing and kidnapping innocent Nigerians, as criminals as he also vowed to deal decisively with insurgents, bandits and kidnappers.
You will recall that Femi Adesina, the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, had stated that the federal government would have informed Nigerians if a ransom was paid to the bandits.
According to Adesina, the agencies that would pay the ransom have spokesmen who could confirm or deny if the government paid ransoms.
Meanwhile, he added that President Buhari-led administration is committed to tackling the country’s security challenges.
