Buhari did not sack his Chief of Staff, Presidential Media Aide. Contrary to the reports making rounds on social media that Buhari relieved Abba Kyari of his duties, Bashir Ahmed Presidential aide on New Media has openly disputed the story calling it untrue.
The denied message originated from a whatsapp voice note shared to many northerners in Nigeria. It claimed that Abba Kyari has been replaced with the former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi.

The message read in part, “The termination of the appointment of Abba Kyari took immediate effect. And the President has appointed Ajimobi as New COS. The President ordered Abba Kyari to step down as Chief of Staff due to his health challenge.’’
Bashir Ahmed, Presidential Aide on New Media described it as “fake news”. He twitted, “The message read in part: “The termination of the appointment of Abba Kyari took immediate effect. And the President has appointed Ajimobi as New COS. The President ordered Abba Kyari to step down as Chief of Staff due to his health challenge.’’
Recall that Abba Kyari has recently tested positive to Coronavirus and is currently receiving treatment.
