Fani-Kayode says Bishop Kukah will neither apologize nor leave Sokoto
Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has criticized and attacked calls that Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Bishop Kukah Matthew, should leave the state, following his Christmas message.
The Muslim Solidarity Forum in Sokoto had advised Kukah to leave Sokoto quietly or stop what it referred to as “his malicious vituperations against Islam and Muslims”.
The group also called on the Bishop to tender an unreserved apology to the Muslim community.
Fani-Kayode insisted that Bishop Kukah did not attack Muslims in his Christmas message in a heated reaction, hence has nothing to apologize for.
He added that Kukah has always sought for religious sufferance and peaceful co-existence between Christians and Muslims. Therefore, those who insist that he “must apologize” or “leave Sokoto” must be careful of their utterances and be sure to keep the peace.
Fani-Kayode went ahead to say that if anyone provides him with a video of Bishop Kukah inciting violence against Muslims and Islam, he will gift the person the sum of 1 million naira.
