In a significant legal development, Bishop Feyi Daniels, the founder of iReign Christian Ministry, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence court.
The Lagos-based cleric was found guilty of raping a church member while purportedly “speaking in tongues” at his Lekki residence, as ruled by Judge Rahman Oshodi.
The victim, who had been summoned from Ilorin to the Lagos church, detailed the incident, citing punishment for not attending a meeting. Despite the legal proceedings, Daniels continued as pastor during the trial.
Notably, Daniels made several inaccurate predictions during the 2023 presidential elections:
1. *Failed Prediction: Tinubu’s Arrest:* Daniels foresaw Bola Tinubu being declared Nigeria’s president-elect but was arrested by the military shortly after the inauguration. Contrary to the prophecy, Tinubu remains the president.
2. *Failed Prediction: Wike’s Arrest:* Feyi Daniels forecasted the arrest of Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State, before the 2023 elections. Instead, Wike was appointed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
3. *Failed Prediction: Fubara’s Election Defeat:* The pastor predicted the defeat of Siminalayi Fubara, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the 2023 elections. However, Fubara won the election, defending his victory in appeals and securing affirmation by the Supreme Court on January 25th.
