BBNaija Star Khafi Kareem Shares Rape Experience

A former housemate of the Big Brother Naija reality Tv show, Khafi Kareem has shared her ordeal in the hand of a rapist.

The BBNaija Star Khafi Kareem, who shared her experience under the #Whyididntreport hashtag on Tuesday, June 2 revealed that she decided not to report because the person involved apologised.

Khafi added that another reason she did not report the rape incident was that she made herself to believe that the person was drunk.

Former housemate of the Big Brother Naija reality Tv show, Khafi Kareem joined the hashtag #Whyididntreport on Twitter to share her rape experience and why she did not report.

The tweet reads “WhyIDidntReport – because he apologised right after. Because I made myself believe him being drunk was an excuse. Because the one person I did tell said I caused it. Because I felt dirty and ashamed. #WeAreTired.”

The Bbnaija season 4 housemate, who recently premiered her short film titled Torn joined other Twitter users who shared their experiences in the hands of rapists and their reasons for not reporting when the incident happened to them.

Reacting to Khafi’s tweet, many of her followers commended her for speaking up and further described her as a strong lady.

@ForeverTacha said “Oh! Khaffi, I am so sorry you had to go through that. It was NOT your fault and the person who told you that did you a disservice. I would be praying for strength, even as you move through your continuous process of healing.”

Meanwhile, some of her followers also used the platform to reveal their reasons for not speaking up when they were raped.

The hashtag #Whyididntreport popped up on Twitter on Tuesday as part of the campaign against rape and sexual harassment, hence allowing many of the app users to share their ordeal in the hands of rapists.
