Abuja Cleric and BBNaija
Abuja cleric, Vicar of Anglican Church of the Epiphany, Abuja, Venerable Ifeanyi Akunna, may have created more troubles for the on-going BBNaija reality TV show.
The Abuja cleric has called on the federal government to ban the Big Brother Naija show and other similar shows airing in the country.
Akanna expressed his concerns about the show in a message he titled “A House Built on Faulty Foundation.” He said the BBNaija show adds no value to Nigerian youth, but it instead promotes immorality and diminishes the societal morals.
In defense of his statement, the Abuja cleric added that the show is one of the intents of the devil to pollute the minds of the viewers with the kind of nudity and porn they are exposed to on the show.
“Our relevant broadcast authorities should work to ensure that any content that does not promote moral values in the Nigerian society should not be broadcast,“
He also made a call on the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, NBC, and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB to ensure that the BBNaija show is taken off the screen and do adequate censoring of other programs on television.
