Nengi Not Replaced As Face of Bayelsa Girl Child
The Bayelsa State government has come out to clear the air over the appointment of Big Brother Naija star, Rebecca Nengi Hampson as face of Bayelsa girl Child.
The governor of Bayelsa state, Diri Duoye, on Monday 11th of January named Miss Ebizi Blessing Eradiri as the face of Bayelsa Girl Child which led to reports of replacement of Nengi.
According to latest statement by the state government, the reality TV star and Miss Eradiri are to work together to inspire the girl child in Bayelsa state.
Eradiri was appointed face of the Bayelsa Girl Child after she graduated with a first-class from the Niger Delta University (NDU) and Nigeria Law School. She also got an immediate appointment as a lecturer at NDU.

Before her appointment, many Nigerians had called out the Bayelsa state government for appointing the reality TV star ahead of the Law graduate.
The state government has now reacted to the confusion that emerged, as the Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa state governor, Daniel Alabrah, in a chat with BBC Pidgin, said Nengi has not been removed or replaced.
In his words, “Nengi is from the entertainment sector and as such she can function perfectly there. While Miss Eradiri will function in the education sector.
“This is for them to inspire and encourage young women from the state. It is wrong for people to speculate and politicise everything.” he added.
Meanwhile, the Big Brother Naija finalist has sent her congratulatory message to Miss Eradiri stating that they will work together.
