Avengers & Games of Throne star, Dame Diana Rigg has died of cancer at the age of 82.
The award-winning English actress became popular in the 1960s when she featured in ‘The Avengers‘ as Emma Peel. Diana Trigg also starred as Tracy Bond, James Bond’s wife in the 1969 movie titled ‘ Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
Diana Rigg is also popular for playing the role of Lady Olenna Tyrell in the recent HBO’s ‘Games of Thrones’.
Her death has since confirmed by her talent agent, Lionel Larner. In her words, ”she died peacefully on Thursday morning”. The actress had been at home with her family prior this time and have asked for privacy.
She added, ”She was a beautiful kind and generous human being that enhanced the lives of all that knew her as well as a great actress. She leaves a great void in my heart”
Diana Rigg’s actress daughter, Rachel Stirling said Rigg had been diagnosed with cancer in March. She said, ”She had spent her last months joyfully reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and a deep pride in her profession. I miss her beyond words”.
