The Anti-Corruption Agency has picked up Hafsat Ganduje, wife of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, to answer questions over some serious allegations.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who made the arrest, had earlier extended the invite to Hafsat in September, which she failed to respond to their call.
Anti-Corruption Agency Arrests Ganduje’s Wife over Bribery, Land Fraud
It was gathered that the Governor’s wife was allegedly apprehended over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son in the state.
Meanwhile, according to the report that broke the news of her arrest, a very close source to the state government who pleaded for anonymity said EFCC picked her up in the late hours of Monday, 4, 2021.
It was also learnt that Mrs Ganduje was still at EFCC headquarters at 6 a.m. on the same date as mentioned earlier.
However, sources close to her later hinted that Mrs Ganduje failed to appear before the anti-graft agency because she travelled to the United Kingdom, UK, at the time to attend the graduation ceremony of her son.
