The Lagos State Police Command have already started making arrests and have so far apprehended thirty five motorcyclists for breaking the law and successfully confiscated one hundred and ninety five motorbikes.
The action is coming from the enforcement of the okadaban by the Lagos State government, as the Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, confirmed the arrest today in the state.
Despite the action taken against Okada riders, the state still made efforts to assist those ready to migrate to other parts where bike the bike riding business is permitted, so as not to run them out of work completely.
The Lagos State Police commissioner noted that the ban was in phases, adding that strategic measures were being developed to subdue any challenge that could arise from the implementation of the ban.
Speaking further, Alabi responded to questions on the after-effect of the ban and its implication on other areas in the state. He said efforts were ongoing to tackle any attendant consequences induced by the ban.
